Here are some common questions and answers to help you out. This page will be updated over time.
Submissions & Screening
It usually takes around a few days to take a decision on a submission. Factors, such as volunteer screeners' time availability, queue length, and need for further review, may affect your waiting time.
Your rejection will include a rejection reason explaining what didn't meet our standards. You can check the full list of reasons and what they mean in the Guidelines. Once you've fixed the issue, feel free to submit the picture again.
Every submission must be assigned a category describing its main subject, such as Aircraft, Airport, or Formation & Events. See the full list with descriptions in the Guidelines.
Metadata can only be edited while a picture is still a draft, before you submit it to the queue. Once it's submitted, it can no longer be changed directly, so double-check everything before you send it in. You can either remove a submission from the queue and upload a picture again, or contact support@simpictures.com if it's already public.
You can remove a submission yourself while it's still a draft or waiting in the queue. Once a picture has been accepted and published, contact support@simpictures.com to have it removed.
The limit counts how many of your pictures are waiting in the queue or saved as drafts, not how many you can upload in total. It keeps the queue manageable for our volunteer screeners and stops a single member from flooding it. A verified account starts with 5 slots, while staff and the higher Patreon tiers get 10. Slots free up as your submissions are accepted or rejected, so submitting your drafts and waiting for screening is usually enough.
Light editing, such as color correction or cropping, is fine as long as the picture still accurately represents the flight simulation experience. Heavy manipulation that misrepresents the scene may lead to a rejection.
Screeners are members who volunteer to handle the submission queue. We're currently not looking for more screeners, but you can follow our social media to get updates if this changes.
