In 2023 I had an idea of creating a website for sharing flight simulator screenshots, which lead me to start this project. Websites like JetPhotos or Planespotters were the biggest inspirations for this project, and I thought it would be a cool experiment to bring photography into the flight simulation world too.
SimPictures provides a platform to share and explore flight simulation experiences, and connect with fellow enthusiasts sharing the passion of aviation. SimPictures’ goal is to help more people see what flight simulation means to those who love it.
Here you can upload your screenshots, applying metadata, such as flight simulator, route, airline, aircraft addon and other addons. This allows other users who'll see your picture to know what addons you used, helping them understand how you created the scene and discover new software for their own setups. Once uploaded, our team manually reviews your screenshot to check the quality and compliance with screenshot guidelines.
Our team of screeners consists of experienced photographers who apply real-life photography tecnhiques to flight simulators. If you want to take your screenshots to the next level, we’ve put together a guide with practical advice on framing, lighting, and composition.
We know that keeping standards simple and clear for everyone can be challenging, so we make an effort to communicate our guidelines and tips for high-quality screenshots. At the same time, we to balance perfection with practicality, because SimPictures is about sharing experiences, and not just awesome screenshots.
We post best highlighted pictures across our social media accounts every week and notify about updates on SimPictures.

Hello, my name is Nikolai! I live in Helsinki, Finland.
I started this project in 2023. As a software development student, developing and maintaining SimPictures has given me an incredible amount of knowledge and skills over the past few years.
I’ve always been fascinated by civil aviation, and this fascination led me to flight simulation.
In fact, I absolutely enjoy flying planes. I started with mobile simulators and eventually progressed to full-featured platforms like X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator, flying on VATSIM as well.
Hi, I'm Serafim (a.k.a. Feurum). I was born and raised in Moscow, the capital of Russia. As a child, I fell in love with metal birds and spent a lot of my free time watching them from under the fence. Nothing could stop me from spending hours like this. Neither the weather, nor the disapproving looks of friends and acquaintances who did not understand my passion and took me for another concerned fanatic who believed in living airplanes.
Flight simulators occupy a separate chapter in my life. Naturally, like any aviation fanatic, I have thousands of hours of flying in the virtual sky behind me. I have always been interested in flying to a new place, admiring the landscapes opening up from above. Thanks to technology, we can discover our earth virtually - a digital copy of the earth has been recreated 1 to 1 and everyone has the opportunity to study it. Thanks to aviation, I became interested in other things - learning English and photography. That's why I spend so much time after the flight carefully composing the shot in the replay, trying to give it a fresh look and color.
My passion for aviation has always been there as far as I can remember. I started planespotting in 2008 and started using FS2002. From there on I moved onto FSX, P3Dv4 and v5, XP11, XP12 and MSFS. From not knowing how to properly fly any plane, to flying as professional as I can on VATSIM.
After Graduating in early 2024, I started my apprenticeship to becoming an Aircraft Mechanic, finally getting to work near and on planes. On top of that I still continue to proceed planespotting to this day with updated gear and know how, uploading to JetPhotos, Planespotters and more.
Hi, I’m Feroz! I’ve been passionate about aviation for as long as I can remember. My love for planes led me to start planespotting in 2017, initially using my phone to capture photos. Over time, my interest grew, and in 2023, I invested in a camera to enhance my skills. Now, I share my photos on JetPhotos, connecting with a global community of aviation enthusiasts.
In 2022, I took my passion for aviation a step further by diving into flight simulation. It’s an amazing way to explore the technical side of flying and fuel my dream of one day becoming a pilot. When I’m not planespotting or simming, I enjoy playing video games to relax and have fun.
My ultimate goal is to travel the world and become a pilot. Aviation is more than just a hobby for me, it’s a lifelong passion and a way to experience the incredible diversity our world has to offer.

SimPictures wouldn’t be what it is today without the support of many awesome people.
Eugene Solomatin offered valuable design insights. His feedback was essential to shaping the look of the site.
A special thanks goes to all the testers who tried early versions of the site, reported bugs, and shared feedback: Feurum, mushd, Enadiy, Eennou, World of Airline, xira, Polar Aviation, JD747 and many others who helped along the way.
Thanks also to the developers of the libraries I’ve used, Font Awesome for their free icons (https://fontawesome.com/license/free ), and OurAirports for their open airport database (https://ourairports.com/ ), authors of npm packages we use and open-source software maintainers.
